She Delights Bible Study

Let God’s delight in us inspire, guide, and transform our delight in Him!

Sometimes it’s easy to forget that God delights in being present with us in every moment of our lives. In the good and the bad, God reigns and remains. But, if we are not consistently immersing ourselves in the truths of His Word and actively practicing the disciplines of delight that we find within its pages, we will easily find ourselves delighting in the things that don’t truly satisfy or sustain.

In this five-session Bible study companion to the book She Delights, Elle Cardel, founder of the popular Daughter of Delight ministry, teaches readers to see what it means to delight in God’s ways over our own. She invites readers to join her as she wrestles with hard questions such as:

• What does it mean to delight in God and to have Him delight in me? Am I even worthy of God’s delight?
• How can I cling to what is good when life feels so hard?
• How do I faithfully pursue a relationship with Jesus when there is so much competing for my time?

-          Video Session summaries

o   Session One: Pursue Sound Doctrine (08:24)— The way we come to know God is through Scripture. In this session, Elle encourages us to fill our hearts with the truth of God’s Word. Only then will we start to understand what it means to truly delight in the Lord.

o   Session Two: Imitate Christ (10:20)— As Christians, our goal should be to imitate Christ in all we do. But often we get so caught up in our lives that we do not recognize opportunities to be imitators of our Savior. By immersing ourselves in Scripture and learning about Jesus’ character, we will be more equipped to become like him more and more in all we do. 

o   Session Three: Hate What Is Evil (11:37)— Sin often looks deceptively alluring to us. By spending time in God’s Word, we can become trained to recognize the danger and worthlessness of sin and cling to what is good. Our faithful Father wants us to share in his victory over evil as he guides us into spiritual maturity.

o   Session Four: Spread the Gospel (10:19)— How bold is your faith? As people who belong to the Lord, we should always be willing and ready to preach the gospel—to ourselves and those around us. The Holy Spirit wants to empower us to choose faith over fear and to experience the blessings of bold, believing faith. 

o   Session Five: Walk in a Manner Worthy (07:36)— Scripture is very clear when to comes to how we should live as we grow in our faith. The words we say and the ways in which we present ourselves should set us apart from the world and put God’s truth on display.
